El sol deli – Authentic Mexican Flavors & Friendly Service in Monroe, CT

Great flavor, great portions. They have a nice salsa bar as well! Service was fantastic. This place is a GEM.

Located on Rt 25 in Monroe in a strip mall is the newest location for El Sol Deli. The store opened the day before I got there and the owner and his family were working. The owner greeted me and thanked me for stopping by. I frequently visit the Stratford location and I was happy to see the signature tile on the countertops. The menu is similar to the other locations. I ordered and within a few minutes I had my breakfast sandwich and coffee. The coffee bar is self serve and is located in the dining area. Plenty of room so you are not crowded by others. The dining area is clean and bright with large window overlooking the parking lot. Access is easy from both the north and southbound directions on the main road. This is a small family owned business that is a must try while in Monroe. Highly recommended.

empanadataco was BOMB i literally had to order another one because of how good it was! the service was very friendly, however they dont give cup iced water LOL u have to buy your own. Would 100% recommend!

If you are looking for QUALITY Mexican food, seek no further. I was excited to try their empanada tacos and they did not disappoint. I can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner. There are some “similar” restaurants in the area… but don’t waste your time and go to El sol deli! Their chips and salsa bar were perfect combo as well! I can’t wait to go back and get some more and try some more dishes, if they are anywhere was good as the empanada tacos, I will be very happy!

Delicious and great service, I ordered the wrong toppings on my daughter’s taco and he made her new ones and let us keep the others! She said this place has amazing service!!!!

We were intrigued by the idea of empanada tacos and decided to try them at El Sol’s new Monroe location—they did not disappoint! The crunchy shell holds the filling well and stays crisp. El Sol’s traditional tacos have delicious homemade shells too. The menu also has breakfast items, sandwiches, and bowls, and the salsa bar and aguas frescas add great options to the meal. Everything tasted fresh, the staff was welcoming, and the space is clean and bright. Service was quick. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

New counter restaurant. Food was delicious. We had two sole bowls. Both were full of flavor and fresh. Had enough leftover for lunch the next day. We also tried three different tacos. Meats were tender and juicy and not sure if shells/tortillas were home made but they tasted like it. Radishes were crisp and cut the richness of the meats perfectly. You order at the counter but they have a nice seating area with tables and a self serve sauce area. Haven’t tried breakfast yet but it all looked delicious. Guacamole was very fresh. Chips were a little thick for my liking but still good. Highly recommend. They don’t have a website with a menu but it’s on their FB page and I posted it here.

Ordered takeout for dinner. Truly they make some great food. We had tacos, Rice bowl, Quesadilla both steak and chicken. Lastly a side of Guacamole. Omg I forgot the Empanada's!! Plenty of food with great service. We are going back to try out the extensive breakfast menu. Do not wait to go!!!
